Dale Mitchell is the Chief Executive Officer for Ethos and has been with the organization since 1993. During his tenure, Mr. Mitchell has overseen the evolution and growth of, what was then Southwest Boston Senior Services, with revenues of $5 million per year, to Ethos, a $22 million non-profit serving both the elderly and disabled, throughout the Greater Boston-area.
Mr. Mitchell is also the co-founder of the LGBT Aging Project, New England’s premier organization for cultural competency training, programs and advocacy for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) older adults.
Prior to this, he was Assistant Administrator for the Boston Housing Authority and a public interest lobbyist and policy analyst specializing in welfare and tax reform. He has a Master’s Degree in Social Planning, is a licensed clinical social worker, and is a staunch supporter of the public sector’s role in promoting economic and social justice.
