Home > West Roxbury Rocks 2018

Dear Friends,

On behalf of Ethos, our board of directors and staff, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for helping to make our West Roxbury Rocks fundraiser such a success. By the numbers, we exceeded all expectations by selling 364 tickets, receiving more than 100 in-kind gifts, securing 11 sponsors and 38 program book advertisers and raising nearly $67,000 for our AgeWell West Roxbury program.

But this event isn’t just about numbers. It’s about the community coming together and recognizing the value and importance of helping seniors live healthy, active and independent lives. By that definition alone, West Roxbury Rocks was a smashing hit!

Throughout the year, we hope to share with you some of what we have been able to accomplish with your support. For now, I’ve included a link below to the event program book in case you want to share it with friends or colleagues. I’ve also posted a few photos from the event there.

11 years ago, Ethos started the AgeWell program with a simple premise: keep seniors active, healthy and living independently in their community.

With your support, and the hard work and dedication of a small but effective collective of staff and volunteers, our AgeWell program has conducted more than 433 individual programs, events and health promotion classes with more than 13,500 participants over the past three years alone.

In today’s economic climate, it is a challenge to provide quality services with dwindling resources. Ethos can’t support the AgeWell West Roxbury program alone. That’s why we need your help. West Roxbury Rocks, our annual fundraising event, helps to fill the gap.

Funds raised at West Roxbury Rocks has enabled us to do so much. Since 2013 AgeWell has had:

  • 2,200+ elders complete Falls Prevention/Physical Activity Programs such as A Matter of Balance and Tai Chi
  • 730+ seniors complete Health and Wellness classes such as Chronic Disease Self-Management or Healthy Eating
  • 8,400+ older adults participate in Social Engagement Programs such as AgeWell Café and Holiday Celebrations
  • 4,600 hours of class instruction, event programming and community engagement activities

Just think about how much more we can accomplish together with your support!

West Roxbury Rocks is Ethos’ signature fundraising event.
