Ethos’ services include Meals on Wheels, home care, case management, and culturally appropriate programs.
Our commitment to the independence, dignity, and well-being of older adults and disabled individuals, and keeping them at home, is at the heart of everything we do because home is Where the Heart Is.

Ageless Advocacy Award

Some of Mayor Menino’s initiatives serving older Bostonians were the SHINE Program, still operating today, that offers free health insurance counseling, health and fitness programs and access to the Mayor’s Neighborhood Pharmacy Plan. A number of consumer protection and safety programs for the elderly were launched after an ambitious door-knocking campaign that surveyed the needs of vulnerable elders in the city.
Angela co-founded the Boston Women's Commission and served on the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, advocating for policies that addressed gender inequality and women's rights. She was instrumental in the creation of the Boston Women's Memorial, honoring Abigail Adams, Lucy Stone, and Phillis Wheatley. Angela remains a strong advocate for women's rights and services.
Angela’s involvement in community initiatives demonstrates her continued unwavering commitment to the Boston community.
Community Impact Award

As both an out (spoken) gay man and a highly respected leader in aging services, Dale was one of the state’s earliest champions of LGBTQ+ aging issues. Under his leadership,Ethos was a founding member of the LGBT Aging Project and the MA Special Legislative Commission on LGBTQ+ Aging. Dale also appeared in the groundbreaking 2011 documentary on LGBTQ+ aging, Gen Silent.
In recognition of his leadership in the field of LGBTQ+ aging, Dale was named Grand Marshal of Boston Pride 2019. Today, Dale continues his activism through his recently publishedmemoir, Hippie F****t Freak: The Making of a Gay Liberationist, and his work with OutstandingLife, a statewide virtual senior center for LGBTQ+ older adults. Of his many accomplishments, Dale still considers coming out of the closet two years before the Stonewall Rebellion to be among his proudest.

“We are honored to be co-chairing the gala in honor of caregivers in our community. Having cared for senior family members over the years, we know how important it is to care for loved ones as they mature. We also believe that Ethos’ work to create awareness of the needs of our seniors can help foster deeper connections between generations and promote a culture of respect and mutual appreciation.”
