The Behavioral Response and Support Initiative (BRSI) is designed to serve as the first step in connecting individuals to a variety of resources that can improve their mental health and well-being. Through this program, individuals who identify themselves as seeking support will be introduced to both ethos-based and community-based resources that align with their needs. The BRSI Program is funded by a grant from Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, a part of the Mass General Brigham group.

Ethos based programs are as follows:

Healthy Ideas: A resource for older adults suffering from mild to moderate depression, where clients meet weekly to discuss coping skills and set goals aimed at improving mental health and emotional well-being.

BHOAP (Behavioral Health Outreach for Aging Populations): A program that connects aging individuals with counselors, social workers, and mental health professionals to offer direct support and guidance specific to the unique needs of older adults.

Friendly Visitor: A volunteer-driven program where trained community members provide companionship and social engagement to reduce isolation and promote emotional well-being.

In addition to these Ethos-based resources, clients are also connected to a broad network of community-based resources that can further support their mental health journey, including local behavioral health services, support groups, and other organizations offering valuable assistance.

The BRSI program is committed to being the initial point of contact that connects individuals to the right resources, helping them take the first step toward improving their mental health in a safe and supportive environment.
