Sheldon Lloyd

Sheldon Lloyd is Executive Director of Family Fresh Foods (5013c) and is Board Director and co-owner of City Fresh Foods, Inc.
Family Fresh Foods is a new non-profit that will be addressing food insecurity through supper meal programs throughout Boston. City Fresh Foods is Boston’s leading local and employee-owned food service company serving the Commonwealth’s older adult and youth populations with culturally appropriate, nutrient-dense menus. Under Sheldon’s direction, City Fresh Foods became the first to provide multicultural meals to older adults and fresh salad bars to schools. Sheldon brings more than twenty years of experience in leadership, sales, finance and mission-driven socially conscious business practices to the ground-breaking work of City Fresh and now Family Fresh Foods.
Sheldon, with his brother Glynn, has not only grown City Fresh Foods to 30,000 meals a day but has done so by being an advocate for the development and health of the Boston community where he works and lives. Sheldon worked with Main Streets and Community-based Organizations to develop areas such as Four Corners Dorchester where the company was located for 10 years. As a mission-driven leader, he focused on living wages, local economic development, and employee ownership. Today City Fresh Foods employs over 175 people, of which 80% reside in Boston, and of those employees 40% have dedicated more than five 5 years of service. In 2026, 40 employees became owners.
Previously, Sheldon Lloyd co-founded Ginger Kids, a socially and educationally responsible gourmet cookie company distributed through major department stores across the country, which donated a portion of its proceeds to the Starlight Foundation.
Prior to that, Sheldon worked for Eastman Kodak in sales for 7 years, in a two-pronged business strategy involving marketing directly to graphic arts dealers and printers. While in New York City, Sheldon also successfully organized and promoted special events for young business professionals in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Before his time in New York, Sheldon worked in banking for State Street Bank and Bank of New England.
Sheldon holds a BS in Business Administration from Boston University, where he played Division 1 tennis. Sheldon has two young adult children, and a family dog and resides in Boston.
He enjoys music, dance, visual arts, sports and being out on the water and in the mountains, whenever possible.
