Ethos & Elks Partner to Bring Thanksgiving to Homebound Elders

By November 23, 2012No Comments

Ethos and the The Boston Lodge of Elks No. 10 once again partnered to bring a bit of Thanksgiving to more than 250 homebound and frail elders throughout Boston. The elder services agency mobilized over 50 volunteers and staff to deliver hot Thanksgiving dinners, each lovingly prepared donated by the Elks.

Each meal included fresh carved turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, squash and dessert. Desserts were donated by the City Mission Society of Boston, Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly and Ula Café in Jamaica Plain. Each elder also received a placemat decorated by students from the buildOn Boston afterschool program and the Edith C. Baker School youth development program.

Ethos’ volunteer programs are supported by grants and through individual and corporate donations. For more information on how to make a contribution to Ethos, please call 617-477-6689 or visit www.ethocare.org.
