Celebrating Older Americans Month With Governor Deval Patrick
What: In culmination of a month-long series of events for the elderly and their support circles called SeniorPalooza, Ethos will host its final signature celebratory event, the 6th Annual Senior Prom in honor of Older Americans Month. This year’s theme is Hollywood, Here I Come! Attendees are encouraged to dress like a celebrity or in glamour attire. Over 250 elders, dressed-to-impress, from Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, West Roxbury, Hyde Park and Mattapan are expected to attend, in addition to many community leaders and elected officials. The Prom will feature food, entertainment, door prizes and dancing. Highlights include the coronation of a Prom King and Queen, a dance contest and a celebrity look-a-like contest.
Who: Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Thomas M. Menino, State Representative Mike Rush, Councilor John Tobin, other elected officials, Ethos staff and board of directors, community leaders and elderly residents from Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, Hyde Park, West Roxbury and Mattapan neighborhoods.
