Join us on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1 Roanoke Ave in Jamaica Plain, for a special concert presentation. 

Palaver Strings, a musician-led string orchestra and nonprofit organization dedicated to the collaborative interpretation of classical masterworks has partnered with Ethos and the LGBT Aging Project complete a songwriting workshop for older adults in the LGBT community. Based on their work with the Lullaby Project, Palaver wanted to bring attention to a community that is often overlooked in our society.

Palaver worked with attendees at Ethos’ Community Cafe programs for LGBT elders, and songwriting producer and engineer, Matthew Brady, to write and record songs in October 2017. These songs are being performed as part of their “Beautiful and Bizarre” concert.

With their program, Beautiful and Bizarre, Palaver Strings show the wide range of colors and textures that Baroque music has to offer, and the vibrancy and vitality it brings us even four hundred years later.
