Program Spotlight: Resident Services Coordination

Ethos is thrilled to partner with the Hands to Heart Center  – Yoga for the People to offer chair yoga classes to residents of Rockland Towers!

Over the past six months, Westlyne Bruno, Ethos’ Resident Services Coordinator (a partnership with the Boston Housing Authority) has coordinated with the Hands to Heart Center to help the residents of Rockland Towers experience, right in their home building, this impactful and accessible form of exercise.

Hands to Heart Center – Yoga for the People (HTHC) is a nonprofit organization that shares the healing practice of yoga with people affected by addiction, poverty & trauma in Greater Boston.  HTHC provides high-quality, customized yoga classes that are accessible, inclusive and inspiring.

Ethos is deeply grateful to HTHC for making this opportunity at Rockland Towers possible.  If the smiling faces of the yoga class members are not enough to convey the positive impact of this program, the following quotes from the group bring the message home:

“Doing yoga helps me relax specially when I am tense. ”

“I was afraid at first to try yoga, but now I am more comfortable.”

“Yoga is was not what I  thought  it was, and I am glad I came.”
