Ethos AgeWell West Roxbury to Hold its 3rd Annual Fundraiser

BOSTON, April 9, 2013 – On Friday, April 26, 2013, Ethos AgeWell West Roxbury will hold its 3rd annual West Roxbury Rocks!, a celebration to benefit seniors living healthy and independently. The event will held from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at the Irish Social Club of Boston at 119 Park Street in West Roxbury. The night will feature great food, live music, dancing, a silent auction and raffles, all while supporting the AgeWell initiative.

The Gardens at Gethsemane, led by Alan MacKinnon, has made a long-term commitment to support West Roxbury Rocks! and the AgeWell program and will be the title sponsor for West Roxbury Rocks in 2013, 2014 and 2015. More than 25 other organizations and businesses have also committed to sponsoring the event or advertising in the program book including; Universal Benefit Plans, Friendly Care Inc., Blue Hills Bank, Chestnut Hill Realty and Surfside Realty Trust, to name a few. More than 40 organizations and local businesses have also donated sports memorabilia, golf passes, hotel and restaurant gift certificates, theater and museum tickets and more, for the event’s silent auction.

This year, West Roxbury Rocks! guests will be treated to live music by Tradition, playing a variety all styles of Irish music, classic rock tunes, with a little country and folk mixed in. It will be a musical experience that West Roxbury Rocks guests will rave about long after the last note has faded. Also stepping up for seniors and performing at the event are the students from the O’Dwyer School of Irish Dance.

In addition to several silent auction donations, the YMCA of West Roxbury will also be providing child care until 8:30 p.m. the night of the event. There is no cost for Y members; it is $10 per child for non-members. Children must be registered by Sunday, April 21, 2013 to be eligible. See www.ethocare.org  for details.
